infiniMap allows you to use unlimited size image textures within LightWave 3D. It includes a shader, procedural texture layer and node and provides all projection types . infiniMap supports OpenEXR, JPEG 2000 and ECW images, an image conversion tool is included.

infiniMap is available in 3 editions, infiniMap Pro, infiniMap Exr and infiniMap Le.

infiniMap is currently available for LightWave 3D 9.0 and higher, Windows 32- and 64-bit as well as OSX UB (please note, the OSX version currently only supports EXR images).

The unlicensed version includes a fully functional shader that can use planar mapping on the Y axis and may be used for free.

exrTrader provides complete support for the OpenEXR image file format for LightWave 3D. It is the ideal companion for anyone using LightWave in a compositing pipeline.

exrTrader includes standard image loaders and savers as well as an image filter saver that allows for the saving of any render buffer provided by LightWave 3D. Buffers can be saved to a single or multiple OpenEXR files. Support of VIPER to preview buffers makes selecting them very intuitive.

exrTrader is currently available for LightWave 3D version 7.5 to 9.X, Windows 32- and 64-bit as well as OSX.

unique global shading system for LightWave 3D

shaderMeister allows you to override the shading of surface on a scene by scene basis. This is accomplished by a shader plugin that needs to be applied to all surfaces that should be overridden by shaderMeister.

When rendering the shader plugin will detect if a shaderMeister global shading network is present and then evaluate it.

The shaderMeister global shading network itself is saved with the scene. A master handler plugin manages it.

shaderMeister has been designed with compositing pipelines in mind that need to break out complex passes.

Minor updates for shaderMeister and db&w Tools

Well, this is how it goes. There's been a few issues in shaderMeister and an issue in the free db&w Tools that have just been fixed:


shaderMeister

Changes since V1.1e

  • Fixed a crash bug when loading a preset when the node editor is open. Now the node editor will be closed and re-opened after loading (if it was open initially).
  • The Filter by Scene Surface didn't load the surface names properly
  • Copying and pasting the Filter Node created an extra input

db&w Tools

The Cache Node didn't cache due to half a bug fix... *sigh*.

We've also made a sample scene courtesy of Mariusz 'pYo' Skrzypczynski available for download which shows a render speed improvement of almost 500% due to using the Cache Node in a complex surface shading graph. Thanks Mariusz!

Software updates and Softwear

We've been busy fixing various bugs in and finally ported exrTrader, shaderMeister and db&w Tools to 64-bit on OSX.

exrTrader has been updated to version 1.5b.

It features support for 64-bit LightWave 3D on OSX and also writes a lot more metadata than it previously did.

exrTrader V1.5a has been released

Things happen, *sigh* ...

Version V1.5a of exrTrader fixes to issues that crept in after V1.5 was released:

Changes since V1.5:

  1. Renamed the loader to "LW_OpenEXR" - please re-add the exrTrader plugin to LW to make it active. This will effectively override the native OpenEXR loader that comes with LightWave.
  2. Fixed issues with limited regions and no data window being computed by exrTrader.

shaderMeister V1.1b released

Unfortunately the last update to shaderMeister still contained a small issue. Instead of changing the manual we decided to actually fix the issue:

Changes since V1.1a:

  • The custom preset directories would not overwrite the default ones as described in the documentation

The update is available to registered users in our download section.

db&w Tools V1.5 released

We've just released db&w Tools V1.5.

Changes sice the previous version:

  • Sequencer Node
    (This one is extremely handy when rendering out matte passed based on IDs.)

  • Added "Revenge of the Lenscap" image viewer (Please be careful with that one!)

  • Various extensions to existing nodes and bugfixes.

We also finally have a proper HTML page with documentation here.

We hope you enjoy working with these plugins. As always, we're grateful for feedback, feature requests or even bug reports(!).

We've just published a sample scene and an explanation in our forums on how to use shaderMeister to create a Hypervoxels pass that still reflects and refracts the hidden items.
